Quests for this dungeon

[71D] Postponing the Inevitable
Given by Archmage Berinand in the Borean Tundra. You have to do something with a interdimensional rift inside The Nexus. To do this you have to go to the edge of the platform where Anomalus is (after killing him ofcouse) and use the Interdimensional Refabricator inside your inventory.
There is a pre-requisite quest for this one from the same quest giver: [71] Reading the Meters. You have to go to the following locations and get a reading by clicking the orb.
  • Nexus Geological Reading: 28,28
  • Southern Coldarra Reading: 28,34
  • Northern Coldarra Reading: 31,20
  • Western Coldarra Reading: 22,23

Reward items:

[71D] Quickening
Given by Archmage Berinand in the Borean Tundra. You have to collect 5 Arcane Splinters that drop of Crystalline Protectors inside the dungeon. You will find them as you go through the dungeon.
For this one there is a pre-requisite quest too from the same quest giver: [71] Secrets of the Ancients. Just collect some Glacial Splinters and Magic-Bound Splinters in the area around The Nexus.
Reward items:
[71D] Prisoner of War
Given by Raelorasz in the Borean Tundra. For this one you have to kill the end boss Keristrasza.
There is quite a long quest-chain you have to finish before you can pickup this one:
  • It all starts with [71] Puzzling... which you get from a Scintillating Fragment that drops of any Coldarra Spellbinder. It will bring you to Raelorasz.
  • Raelorasz gives you [71] The Cell. To complete it you have to kill and loot the mobs at 24.29 (Warmaster Goredrak) and 27.20 (General Cerulean). When you turn in this quest, you'll get a Augmented Arcane Prison that's needed for the next quest-chain.
  • With the Prison you can summon a mob that will give you the quest [71] Keristrasza. Speak to her and get the followup [71] Bait and Switch.
  • Now go and get 10 Crystallized Mana Shard all around the Nexus. Once complete summon the mob again and get [71] Saragosa's End. Now when you are ready for a fight do the following: 1. Use your Augmented Arcane Prison to summon Keristrasza again; 2. Tell her you are ready and she will port you to the platform; 3. Use the Arcane Power Focus to attract Saragosa; 4. Kill Saragosa and loot corpse; 5. Use your Augmented Arcane Prison to summon Keristrasza again; 6. Ask her to return you to Transitus Shield; 7. Turn in and get followup [71] Mustering the Reds.
  • Now go to Raelorasz and turn in the Prison... again get the followup [71] Springing the Trap.
  • The following steps are interesting. Do the following: 1. Go to the NW side of Nexus as has been stated (25,22); 2. Throw the flare and a dragon while apear. 3. "Stay close to me, . I could not bear for any harm come to you." and the dragon will kill another mob. He then says: "Come . Lut us see the fruits of our efforts" and if you are close to him, you will fly off; 4. Now, this is the key point: WHEN YOU LAND -- RUN AWAY. If you just stand there it will not complete. When you start running, he will say: "Hurry ! Flee! Live to finish what we've begun here..." Then the quest will be complete.
  • Now turn in the quest and you'll finaly get the dungeon quest.

Reward items:

[71D] Have They No Shame?
Given by Librarian Serrah in the Borean Tundra. Pick up a book laying on the floor in Nexus in the "hall of stasis", which is a semi-circle shaped hallway (full of frozen people) in the blue part of the instance. You can't miss it.
Reward items:

(E = Entrance)

Bosses, tactics and drops

[72E] Ormorok the Tree-Shaper
He casts Crystal Spikes which summons a series of crystal spikes that radiate out in all directions from the caster. After a short time, they will erupt from the ground, dealing 2828 to 3172 damage to all nearby enemies and knocking them into the air. As long as all partymembers stay out of the spikes, this is a easy boss.
Item drops:
[72E] Anomalus
At 75-50-25 % of his life he will become immune and he will create a Chaotic Rift that adds Crazed Mana-Wraiths, that will cast Arcane Missiles and Heal the boss. Kill the adds first and then continue pummeling the boss.
Item drops:
[72E] Grand Magus Telestra
The fight whit this boss has three phases.

Phase 1:
Casts Firebomb (Hits around 800 Damage to the enemy and other enemies around the original target)
Casts Ice Nova (Deals 2357 to 2643 Frost damage to all enemies within 60 yards, stunning them for 3 sec.)
Casts Gravity Well (Continuously pulls all players within 60 yards to the caster, rapidly dealing 75 Shadow damage for 6 sec)
Group heals will be useful for this, considering the Grand Magus uses AoE spells.

Phase 2:
At 50% health she will Vanish and create 3 Clones of herself. Each clone will cast spells from each Mage Tree:
Frost: Casts Ice Barb and Blizzard
Fire: Casts Fire Blast and Scorch
Arcane: Casts Time Stop (Stuns all enemies for 2 sec), Critter (Similar to Polymorph. Can be dispelled)
The Clones can be polymorphed. Once the Clones are destroyed she will reappear with 50% health. If you have no CC, kill the Frost wielding Clone first to reduce AoE damage.

Phase 3:
She will return back to phase one when all the clones die. However, when she reaches 25% health, she will Freeze everyone and cast Fireball Volley (AoE fireball spell) that will hit everyone in a 30 yard radius.
Item drops:

[73E] Keristrasza
Keristrasza is frozen in ice at the beginning of the instance. There are three usable orbs around her. Once the area is clear of any patrols, click on the orbs and she will be released. It's best to have your three DPS use the orbs, so the Tank can can pick her up right away. Keep her parallel to the rest of the group. She has a tail sweep, casts Crystal Chains, Crystalfire Breath that does frostfire damage and slows attacks, and has a stackable debuff called Intense Cold that can stack up to nine times.
Have the tank stand right in the center of the room on the platform and set up melee DPS on either side to avoid the Tail Swipe and have everybody JUMP to avoid the Crystal Chain.
Item drops:

Before entering the dungeon

All: Go to Borean Tundra, Coldarra and get [71] Reading the Meters and [71] Secrets of the Ancients from Archmage Berinand (33,34).
Now go and collect the needed Glacial Splinters and Magic-Bound Splinters in the area around The Nexus. They drop of the tree elemental like ancients that can be found all over the place. At the same time kill Coldarra Spellbinders untill a Scintillating Fragment drops. When it drops start the quest [71] Puzzling....
While going around the place click on the orbs at the following places:

  • Nexus Geological Reading: 28,28
  • Southern Coldarra Reading: 28,34
  • Northern Coldarra Reading: 31,20
  • Western Coldarra Reading: 22,23

Turn in all quests and get the 2 followups for the dungeon and the next quest from the "Keristrasza" quest-chain. Finish the chain as explained in the quest description above.
Now get the [71D] Have They No Shame? quest from Librarian Serrah and you're ready to go.

Heroic mode

First of all: The ammount of effort you put into these guides must've been copious to come out with such great pieces. I would just like to say thank you for the time and effort you put into these guides (The effort really does show). You can give yourself a pat on the back for this one.

And now the question: Are you going to add some specific info about the Heroic dungeon modes and prehaps info about daily quest?

Heroic info will be added

It has indeed taken quite some hours or even days of work to make these guides, but it's nice and rewarding to do. You can return the favor by spreading the word about this site.

And for the Heroic part, I will add information when I get to it... it's on my todo list.
